The Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church of Haines City operates this web site as a means of keeping members and visitors to the site informed of the ministry of the church and in achieving it’s stated mission of presenting Christ to the people and community in which we, the members, live.  The web site is not targeted toward any specific age group, nor does it prohibit any age group from perusing the various pages of information.  The content is non age-specific, but primarily thought to appeal to young adults/adults seeking information about our church and it’s activities.

 

When someone visits our web site, HainesCitySDA.org, we do not collect (through the use of “cookies” or any other technology) any personally identifiable information about those web visitors, whether members or browsers from the public domain.   When you contact the WebEditor, the Pastor, or other identified person based on the web content, there is no contact other than such a response as you may request through your informational inquiry.

 

We recognize and welcome our obligation to comply with all legal requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and this policy is subject to that obligation. While we respect and hold in confidence any contact generated by our web site, e-mails, telephone calls, etc., we will comply with and disclose any such information if we receive a request from law enforcement officials or as otherwise required by law, or if we believe it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

The Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church of Haines City, along with any and all of it's various ministries, reserves the right to use any photograph/videography taken on church property or at any event, sponsored by the church—this includes but is not limited to school, Pathfinders, Adventurers, social functions and outdoor events—without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph. Photographs may be used in publications, web site, or other media material produced, used or contracted by the Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church of Haines City including but not limited to: brochures, ministries, newspapers, magazines, audio/visual presentations, websites, etc.

 

Any person desiring not to have their photo taken or distributed must contact the Pastor in writing of their concern/intentions and include a photograph. The photo will be used for identification purposes and will be held in confidence by the Pastor and/or Web Site Editor(s).

 

Any individual, organization or company wishing to engage in still photography, videotaping or filming for production, broadcast or public dissemination by any means on or in property owned by the Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church of Haines City or at any function or ministry sponsored by the church must obtain permission in advance from either the Pastor or web site editor. No photograph used by the church in any form may be misused, altered, or misdirected by any party. Misuse of any church family member photo in it's entirety or in part is not allowed, and if used or abused, authorities will be advised of this or any improper use and all legal recourse will be followed including prosecution.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act

 

The primary goal of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) Rule is to give parents control over what information is collected from their children online and how such information may be used.

 

The Rule applies to:

• Operators of commercial Web sites and online services directed to children under 13 that collect personal information from them;

 

• Operators of general audience sites that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; and

 

• Operators of general audience sites that have a separate children’s area and that collect personal information from children under 13.

 

The Rule requires operators to:

• Post a privacy policy on the homepage of the Web site and link to the privacy policy on every page where personal information is collected.

 

• Provide notice about the site’s information collection practices to parents and obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children.

 

• Give parents a choice as to whether their child’s personal information will be disclosed to third parties.

 

• Provide parents access to their child’s personal information and the opportunity to delete the child’s personal information and opt-out of future collection or use of the information.

 

• Not condition a child’s participation in a game, contest or other activity on the child’s disclosing more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in that activity.

 

• Maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of personal information collected from children.
